Renovating the swimming pool

With all the projects we had on the go at La Cote, we thought that renovating the swimming pool was a fairly low priority and to be honest we haven't actually missed it that much in the last two years.... but we were persuaded that it could actually be done on a fairly modest budget with a lot of help from our builder friend Thierry.  As you can see it is a work in progress and has been going on over the last few weeks, but in that time we have lifted and moved all of the concrete slabs which had subsided and removed them to behind the little house at Ropion pending some future reuse!  The decking is beginning to take shape and pool itself is getting a real spring clean.  Looking forward to some warm weather in the summer and actually being able to use it again.  Watch this space.....

the pool looking a bit dark and sad

the sunken slabs come up

the soil starts to be dug out from around the pool

those slabs are really heavy!

... but they do slide rather well down the hill!

slabs finally at Ropion

digging out

Anne sands and treats some of the supporting planks

putting in the dry cement into the geotextile

Thierry demonstrates his special hinged plank!

I have a go at cleaning the pool with the Karcher

The pool a bit cleaner and the decking taking shape
